Ladies and Gentlemen, we are here to introduce you to the TRD-PRO series of the 4-Runner, Tacoma, and Tundra vehicles. This is something that to my knowledge no manufacturer has ever done: release an entire family of very special vehicles all at the same time.
The creators of the TRD-PRO wanted us to share with you part of their inspiration; Waku-Doki, this is a Japanese expression that translates to – “Heart Pumping, Adrenaline Racing”. It can’t be easy for a manufacturer to get a product, much less three, to market that can get your heart pumping or your adrenaline racing AND make it past the lawyers and bean counters at the same time. Everyone knows that Toyota’s mechanical dependability is unmatched throughout the industry and, with the TRD Pro trucks it’s seems that they just might be listening to us consumers as well.
We're in Vegas this week test driving the TRD Pro series Tundra, Tacoma, and 4Runner with Toyota & TRD. They've graciously offered to help us host a meetup tomorrow morning at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
Join us from 10am-12pm TOMORROW, May 3 2014 and see the TRD Pro Trucks up close & personal!
Time: 10a-12pm Saturday May 3rd, 2014
Place: Main entrance parking lot of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino (MAP)
If you're on Facebook check in on our Event Page so we know you're coming =)
We hope to see many of you tomorrow!
With the Toyota Tacoma very much long in the tooth (it's been 10 years since the 2nd generation came out), and rumors of a "global" Toyota Truck platform still circulating, this really could be what the 3rd generation Tacoma / Hilux pickup looks like.
It was rumored last week, and today Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) Made it official: The new home for Toyota USA Corporte HQ will be Plano, TX.
Toyota Motor Sales USA announced today via Press release that by the end of 2017, over 4,000 employees from around the United States will be affected by the move.
Citing better efficiency, quicker decision making, and increased innovation, Toyota North America CEO Jim Lentz says he's excited for the move, which will be the first time in it's history Toyota HQ will not operate out of Southern California.
The new environmentally friendly mega-campus in Plano is expected to open in late 2016 or early 2017, once ground is broken on the facility. Construction is expected to start later this year.
Toyota Racing Development (TRD) is one notable exception from this move; according to the press release TRD operations are not impacted by the relocation at this time.

Patreon is a service that allows anyone to pledge any amount to help support the creators they love. Since you LOVE TCT Magazine and we LOVE creating it for you at no charge, it's a perfect fit!
Since we started as FJC Magazine in 2008, we've been commited to providing amazing Toyota enthusiast coverage completely free of charge. Our Digital PDF edition of TCT Magazine will always be delivered as a free download, that will never change.
The ads we sell in TCT Magazine allow us to pay our amazing editors, keep the lights on, and attend several events per year. Of course we would like to expand to cover even more events (especially on the east coast), provide more breaking news from the Toyota & off-road world, and expand into new media such as cutting edge videos and mobile apps.
We've setup our Patreon campaign to allow you to pledge on a per-issue basis. That means your pledge will only be charged when we publish an issue (5 times per year), and you can pledge any amount you'd like, and can cancel your pledge any time. There is no obligation, no long-term subscription, and your support is greatly appreciated.
Depending on your pledge level, we've setup several rewards as our way of saying thanks for being a patron. We'll send you a Founder Sticker, add you to our Founders section of the website, send you plenty of cool swag, and even meet you at an event for a one-on-one photo shoot, depending on your pledge level.
In addition to rewards for our patrons, we've set goals so you know where your hard earned cash is going. Starting with drawings for collectors edition copies, growing all the way to a completely free tablet app, our goals will help us grow as a publication and will ensure we expand our ability to deliver the content you love.
Checkout our Patreon Page today and pledge if you'd like to help TCT Magazine expand! Your support is very much appreciated.
We're always looking for great new images to use as wallpaper. From mountains to amazing Toyota Cruisers & Trucks, great shots always get the attention of our entire staff.
While looking around the new TRDUSA.com website, we found their wallpaper section. The options are a little limited right now since the site is so new, but the have some pretty cool shots.
Which is your favorite? Shane loves the FJC, Bob's fave is the race truck, and Jonathan's favorite is well...all of them :)
Unlike the previous version, the new site contains plenty of great content to get your Toyota & TRD fill, providing information on the history of TRD, the ability to search for performance parts for your Toyota Truck or SUV, more info on the TRD Pro series, and even a shout out to our favorite Toyota event, the FJ Summit.
We're told that the site will continue to expand under all four sections: Parts & Products, TRD History, Proving Ground, and Garage. The site also has links to social networks, free wallpaper downloads, and informative videos from TRD Engineeers.
So far we've only had a quick look around, but we'll be finding plenty of great info and pointing you to it, so stay tuned!
