2016 Toyota Fortuner Revealed Ahead of Sydney Auto Show

Australian automotive website caradvice.com.au has released photos, specs, and a video covering the all-new 2016 Toyota Fortuner ahead of the Sydney Auto Show.

This is the first time the Fortuner name has been used in Australia, and the all-new version departs from it's history with the 4Runner: this version is based on the all new Toyota Hilux.

While the truck is similar to the slightly larger Land Cruiser Prado, it will also slot well next to the FJ Cruiser (which is still available in Australia), and features the same 1GD-FTV 2.8 liter diesel engine as the Prado. The Fortuner will be available in both a six-speed auto AND six-speed manual transmission.

While the appearance is more SUV-like than the FJ Cruiser, the fact that the Fortuner will seat seven people will certainly attract families in Australia the same way the 4Runner has become so popular in the US.
