2019 TRD Pro Trucks Revealed

2019 TRD Pro Trucks Revealed

Today Toyota announced a few exciting updates for the 2019 TRD Pro trucks (4Runner, Tundra, and 3rd Gen Tacoma). While some of the updates are fairly cosmetic, a few upgrades stand out as useful.

First, all versions of the 2019 #TRDPro trucks come with customized Fox Shocks. The 2.5" internal bypassed front shocks should provide great on-road handling, while stiffening up under heavier off-road use.

In the rear, all versions of the 2019 TRD Pro lineup will include piggy back mounted remote reservoir Fox Shocks.

Both Tundra and Tacoma will run beefy 46mm piston shocks in the front, and the piggyback shocks in the rear will increase travel by 2".

The Tacoma has two exclusive new parts as well: A new front skid plate with red TRD lettering, and the most exciting upgrade is a new Desert Snorkel.

With thousands of 3rd Gen Tacomas already on the street, we hope that a factory snorkel will be available for install at the dealer within the next year.

2019 TRD Pro Tundra

For wheels, Tacoma sees a new 16" alloy that increases track width by 1" front and rear. Tundra also has a new wheel for us to drool over, an 18" forged 5-spoke that weighs 3.35lbs less than the previous version. Also...it's black satin instead of glossy. The new 17" 4Runner wheels are also matte black, and increase track width by almost 1".

Tacoma gets P265/70R16 Goodyear Wrangler Kevlar All-Terrain while Tundra gets a disappointing Michelin P275/65R18 all-terrains. Luckily the 4Runner will see Nitto Terra Grappler P265/70R17 A/T.

4Runner's new TRD Pro suspension provides 1" of lift over stock, and there's one other major update. For 2019, the 4Runner TRD Pro comes with a new roof rack that looks oddly similar to the OEM FJ Cruiser Roof rack. More details to come on that option.

All three models will be available this fall in three colors: Super White, Midnight Black, and a new VooDoo Blue (YES ... the same as the original FJ Cruiser VooDoo Blue).
