We first found out about this FJ from our friends at iLounge, but now we have the full skinny. This sweet FJC was put together for the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show last week by Scosche and Hurley, and althought it's a 'show truck' it's still pretty cool.
The cool camo wrap is a weird contrast to the aloha seats inside, but a show truck has to wow people. We like the All Pro Bumpers and other off road features such as Rigid LED lights as well. For details on all the gizmos, check out this full article.
Prompted by this thread on FJCruiserForums.com, we’ve compiled a nice graphic illustrating the FJC Colors from 2007-2013 (for the North American Market). So far Toyota has released 20 different color combinations for the FJ Cruiser, and has slowly moved away from the bright colors in the original 2007 model year toward more basic colors (Magma being the exception).
When it comes to online communities for the FJ Cruiser, there are plenty of options for you to check out. Forums and other communities are great places to learn more about your truck, find out information about modification options and learn how do to those mods, and read reviews and installation instructions written by true enthusiasts. Whether you're looking for information on all the FJ Cruiser Bumper options, looking for the best tire for a daily driver, or just want to find nearby FJC enthusiasts, nothing conects you with others like FJ forums & other communities.
The FJ Northeasters have announced their 6th Annual Northeast Run!
The event will be held at Rausch Creek OHV park on March 29th-31st and promised to be a great time :)
In addition to great trail runs and sponsors that will be attending the event, the Northeasters will also be:
While the $70 registration fee doesn't cover access to the park, it does cover a catered dinner & raffle (Saturday evening) at the Twin Grove Campground's private lodge, a T-Shirt, and one FJNE sticker.
Find more details on the FJ Northeasters Site
The on-page comparison with a basic Jeep Wrangler is nice, as are the details related to off-road in general. The site has a bit of a 'cartooney' feel, but overall it's an improvement over the last version, which was over 6 years old.
What do you think of the new site?
All of your east-coast FJ lovers listen up! The FJ Bruisers will once again host their Spring Mud Fling this May at Rausch Creek Off Road Park in PA. This is a great event with a long history, so get over to their website & check it out!
We're heading to Overland Expo at Mormon Lake, AZ next week via a 3 day mini-vaca to Ridgway, CO. The FJC crew rolls out of Colorado Springs first thing Saturday morning, but there are a few minor things we need to take care of before we head out:
What are you doing to prepare for the trip? We look forward to seeing everyone in Arizona!!
With one of the largest exhibitor spaces at the Overland Expo, we can't wait to see what Overland Journal / Expedition Portal have setup this year. Last year their booth was one of the most remarkable so we expect nothing less this year. I doubt we'll see the Expeditions 7 trucks though since (last I heard) they were in Australia awaiting transport to the next destination. I'm sure the LR4 Build will be on full display, but we're really excited to get a little closer to their LJ78 Land Cruiser!
The Overland Journal / Expedition Portal booth is #7 in the trees, be sure to stop by!
Our sources have told us that internal Toyota systems are showing the FJ Cruiser will in fact be discontinued after the 2014 model year. Although the demise of the FJC has been rumored since way back in 2009, this is the first ‘very likely’ news we’ve received about discontinuation. Toyota is not commenting on the future of the FJC beyond “there will be a 2014 model”, so this revelation will still remain in the rumor category until we get official word, which probably won’t happen until 2014.
