One of the great features on most late-model Toyota trucks is that they include the bed-rail mount system. The adjustable tie-downs are great for securing your load, and make the perfect platform for aftermarket mounts.

Since we’re planning to remain as low-profile as possible with our new Tundra Project (see Fall 2019 for full details), we got in touch with Rago Fabrication to check out their simple-yet-stout Hi-Lift mounts for the bed-rail system.

The mounts came nicely packaged and feature a tough powder-coated finish. The hardware is sturdy and the extra-large spin bolts make it easy to get the Hi-Lift secured to the truck. It literally took longer to unpack the mounts and find the right tools than it did to install. For now I’ve chosen to install the jack against the front of the bed, but that may change once we install a retractable bed cover.

It’s really kind of cool to see the 20 year old (and still going strong) Hi-Lift mounted to brand new high-quality mounts. For those looking to store their jack in the truck bed, this is definitely an option to consider.

See the Hi-Lift mounts on the Rago Fabrication website.
